Chinese Servers infiltrated AIIMS Servers, Data retrieved successfully

Reports are coming that attack on the computer system of the All India Medical Sciences in Delhi originated from China. The attack’s focal point was patient data, as AIIMS treats 38 lakh patients annually, including judges, bureaucrats, and high government officials.

The Government has assured that the information regarding thousands of patients at AIIMS has been restored.

Cyber attack on AIIMs Delhi’s servers originated in China

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences , Delhi faced a cyber attack on November 23 paralysing its servers. A case of extortion and cyber terrorism was registered by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police on November 25. Two of the analysts deployed to look after the servers securities have been suspended for the alleged breach of cyber security.

Two Analysts suspended for alleged breach of Cyber Security

A source from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has stated “ AIIMS Delhi server was by the Chinese, FIR details that the attack had originated from China. Of 100 servers (40 physical and 60 virtual) , five physical servers were successfully infiltrated by the hackers. The damage would have been worse but is now contained. Data in five servers have been successfully retrieved now.”

On November 23, a cyberattack that affected the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi paralysed its servers.

Earlier, Chandrashekhar had said, “It is obvious that there is a conspiracy and that it has been organised by quite powerful forces. This ransomware attack is really sophisticated. Before we draw any conclusions about the perpetrators of the ransomware attack, we will wait to see how the CERTin and NIA (investigations) turn out.

The incident is being looked into by CERT-IN, the Delhi Cyber Crime Special Cell, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre, the Intelligence Bureau, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and other agencies. A separate division of the Delhi Police began looking into the attack on the AIIMS Delhi computer system earlier this month.
