CJI: Watching the list of cases closely, says DY Chandrachud calling it his “top concern”

CJI: The Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, stated on Tuesday that he is keeping a very careful eye on the listing of cases being presented before the court, calling it his “top concern.”

The CJI went on to say that he is also closely monitoring the number of things that the Registry is verifying for the removal of flaws.

Shuffling of schedule

According to the CJI, he has requested that all cases filed on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday be listed on the Registrar Listed on coming Monday, and all cases filed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday be listed on Friday.

The CJI further stated that if any cases need to be listed sooner than the determined listing schedule, the cases might be submitted before the court when hearing requests for the listing of cases on Tuesday morning.

“I’m keeping a close eye on listing, my first priority,” CJI

“Every morning, I tell my Registrar Listing, as I’m keeping a close eye on listing, my first priority. I’ve been telling them anything registered by Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, make sure it’s listed by next Monday, and cases registered on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, make sure it’s listed by next Friday. Rest assured, it will be done,” CJI remarked.

Justice Chandrachud had previously stated that he had given the Registrar Listing instructions to enable automatic listing of recently registered cases in his first week as CJI.
The CJI added that the bar’s reservations concerning the listing of their cases would be allayed by this listing system.
