Cyclone Biparjoy: On June 15, the cyclonic storm “Biparjoy” is predicted to make landfall between the Kutch district in Gujarat and Karachi, Pakistan. The storm has gotten worse and is now a “extremely severe cyclonic storm.” across the midst of all of this, social media is flooded with footage documenting cyclone Biparjoy’s devastation across Gujarat and Maharashtra.

A Twitter user posted a video of the tall, forceful waves battering Gujarat’s Jamnagar coast. Another video from Jamnagar demonstrated how powerful cyclonic storm Biparjoy caused destruction and damaged several structures, including homes. The cyclone is about to make landfall.

Sindh Prepares for Potential Strike of Cyclone Biparjoy

Due to the possibility that the cyclone may strike the coastal regions of Sindh on June 13, Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also issued a high alert to the appropriate authorities. The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) organised a series of meetings of the Joint Assessment Team handling weather and tropical conditions on Sunday as part of its efforts to track and assess the tropical conditions in the UAE and their potential effects on the nation. According to ANI, the NCEMA reported that tropical cyclone Biparjoy has been classed as Cat-2 since the wind speed near the core climbed to a range of 165 to 175 km/h.
