Delhi Metro: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has expanded the use of its WhatsApp-based ticketing system. Initially launched on the Airport Express Line in June, the system’s remarkable performance has prompted the DMRC to extend its availability to nearly all Delhi-NCR lines, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro. This service expansion is the result of a collaboration between Meta and its authorized partner, Pelocal Fintech Pvt. Ltd.

Delhi Metro announces WhatsApp-based ticketing

Since its introduction in June, this service has been providing valuable assistance to numerous passengers throughout the region. Using this feature is straightforward: users only need to send a ‘Hi’ message to +91 9650855800 on WhatsApp, or they can opt for the convenient option of scanning a QR code to effortlessly purchase metro tickets. This service has now been extended to include 12 Metro lines, comprising a total of 288 metro stations, including the Gurugram Metro Line. With this expanded feature, metro travelers can conveniently buy their metro tickets from the comfort of their own homes.

In a statement, DMRC said, “WhatsApp is the preferred messaging platform for the majority of Indians, and buying a metro ticket will now be as easy as messaging a friend or family member. We are confident that this integration will encourage more commuters to choose the Delhi metro as their preferred mode of travel.”
