One of the five people arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of a young woman whose body was found last week hidden in a restaurant fridge included a Delhi police constable. Sahil Gehlot, Nikki Yadav’s partner, is accused of killing the victim with a charging cord.
According to police, Sahil was helped in planning the conspiracy and placing the body in the fridge of the family restaurant by his father, two cousins, and two friends. One of the accused, Naveen, is a Delhi police constable and is Sahil’s cousin.
Nikki Yadav has been married to the accused since 2020, according to police reports from yesterday. The relationship was opposed by Sahil Gehlot’s family, who wanted to get rid of Nikki Yadav so that he could marry someone else.
“On multiple occasions, the accused persons persuaded him to leave Nikki Yadav and get her out of the way. They kept putting pressure on him,” a police officer told news agency PTI.

Sahil’s family fixed his marriage with another woman in December 2022, and Nikki was kept in the dark.
After a three-hour argument over the matter, Sahil Gehlot, 24, strangled Nikki Yadav with a charging cable on the day of his wedding to another woman. Sahil hadn’t told Nikki Yadav about his desire to wed a different woman.
Prior to the wedding day, Sahil and the other accused men had planned to murder Nikki Yadav. After the murder, the five arrested helped Sahil Gehlot stash the body in the fridge.
“They stuffed the body inside the fridge thinking that it will stay fresh and there would not be any foul smell. No one would be able to suspect or detect anything unusual since everyone would be busy with the wedding for at least three days and later they would dispose her body later,” sources in the Delhi police said.
Nikki Yadav’s body was found by police on Valentine’s Day, a day when many people in the nation were celebrating love.
This is the second time a young woman has allegedly been murdered in Delhi by her live-in partner. Shraddha Walkar was killed by her live-in lover Aaftab Poonawalla last year, who then dismembered her body and dumped the pieces throughout the city, according to the police.
