Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien has shared a meme on Twitter where Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s face was there on a movie poster resembling that of James Bond franchise.
“They call me 007. 0 – Development; 0 – Economic growth; 7 – years of financial mismanagement,” the meme read.
India’s GDP has fallen to 3.1 percent, the lowest in the decade.
On Saturday, TMC vice president Yashwant Sinha took to Twitter to say, “We are a country of dead people. Nowhere else would people have tolerated the daily and unjustified rise in petrol, diesel and lpg prices.”
“If the govt collected Rs 75,000 cr in taxes in 2014, it is today collecting 3.50 lakh cr. Isn’t it daylight robbery,” asked Sinha, a former Union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet.
According to the IMF, India’s economy is expected torise by 9.5 per cent this year.
