Legendary actor Dilip Kumar, who breathed his last today morning, will be accorded a state funeral. Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has issued the instructions in the same line.
Dilip Kumar will be laid to rest at 5 Pm today. His mortal remains were brought earlier today from Hinduja Hospital where he was admitted since June 30 after complain of breathlessness.
Sharing more details about the last rites, Dilip Kumar’s spokesperson Faisal Farooqui took to the actor’s Twitter account and wrote, “Burial today at 5pm..Juhu qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.”
Dilip Kumar, who had been facing regular health issues for months now, passed away at Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital.
“With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return,” his friend Faisal Farooqui wrote on the actor’s official Instagram account.
Some of his best known films include Aan, Daag, Devdas, Madhumati, Azaad, Mughal-e-Azam, Gunga Jamuna, Kranti, Karma, Ram Aur Shyam, among others.
