Doors of Kedarnath Dham opened amid warnings of heavy snowfall from IMD

Uttarakhand: The gates of Kedarnath Dham opened to pilgrims on Tuesday morning amidst the chanting of shlokas and raucous drumbeats. The Temple of Lord Shiva was adorned with 20 quintals of flowers prior to the opening of one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the nation.

India Meteorological Department released an alert for the Snowfall

An official statement predicts that Kedarghati’s weather will continue to be unfavourable this week. ‘For the upcoming week, Kedarghati’s weather is predicted to be bad. The state government has halted the registration of visits to Kedarnath Dham following a warning from the meteorological department. The administration has faced challenges as a result of Kedarnath’s heavy snowfall,’ according to the statement. However, India Meteorological Department (IMD) released an alert for the Snowfall on the Lord Shiva’s Kedarnath Dham way.

First Batch of Devotees has left Haridwar for Char Dham Yatra

Due to heavy snowfall on the pilgrimage route and a weather warning from the Met department, the Uttarakhand government has stopped accepting registration requests from travellers for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra. ‘The Meteorological Department’s warning and the three to four feet of snow that have fallen on the Kedarnath pedestrian route and Dham have caused the registration of pilgrims for the pilgrimage to be suspended,’ it continued. On Saturday the First Batch of Devotees has left Haridwar for Char Dham Yatra, which is began from Yamunotri Dham on the Occasion of Akshay Tritiya.
