He also mentioned that a detailed advisory regarding 'kurbani' (animal sacrifice) will soon be released by the Islamic Centre of India, urging all community members to follow the guidelines responsibly.

Eid-al Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command. It is one of the two major Islamic festivals and is marked by prayers, feasts, and acts of charity.

Eid-al Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) who was willing to sacrifice his son as an act of submission to God's command. It is a day of reflection, charity, and unity, with millions of Muslims across the world performing the symbolic sacrifice of animals and distributing the meat among family, friends, and the needy.

In view of the festival, local authorities in Lucknow and across Uttar Pradesh are expected to issue civic and traffic advisories to manage large congregations and ensure smooth conduct of prayers. Cleanliness drives around Eidgahs and mosques have already begun, and additional security arrangements are being planned to ensure peaceful celebrations.

The markets in Lucknow, especially in areas like Aminabad, Chowk, and Nakhas, have seen a surge in crowd as people prepare for the festival, purchasing clothes, sweets, and sacrificial animals. Veterinary teams are also on standby to monitor the health and safety of animals brought for sacrifice.

Religious leaders have urged the public to maintain harmony and celebrate the occasion with compassion, patience, and adherence to both religious and civic norms.
