EPFO Update: Check Balance by Missed Call and Other Changes
Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has done various improvements in past few months for its members. One such improvement is missed call and SMS service through which people can get information about their Provident Fund (PF) accounts.
Balance Check by Missed Call
Under this change, members can receive information linked to their Provident Fund account. For this, the member’s bank account and Universal Account Number (UAN) should be linked.
• For getting the information about PF account through the missed call, you need to do a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
• After two rings, the call will be disconnected automatically.
• In few seconds after this, you will receive information about PF balance, recent contribution through an SMS on your mobile.
• This facility is totally free and members need not to pay any charge for this.
Balance Check by SMS
PF Balance can also be checked through SMS. This method of sending SMS and getting information about PF is very easy.
• To receive information about PF account through SMS, you need to send an SMS to 738299899 from your registered mobile number.
• For sending SMS, you need to type EPFOHO UAN and the first three letters of the language in which you want information. For example: If you need information in English, you have to type EPFOHO UAN ENG and if you need information in Hindi, type EPFOHO UAN HIN.
• After sending this SMS, you will receive information about the PF balance and latest contribution in the account.
Other Services to Commence Shortly
Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is to start other facilities very soon. . At current time, people have to wait around 15 days for the settlement of their PF claims.
• More than 7 crore members will be able to withdraw PF amount quickly through ATM and UPI.
• The limit for this withdrawal will be up to one lakh rupees. This service is likely to start by the end of May 2025.
• EPFO will issue its members card similar to the debit card for withdrawal
Employees Provident Fund Organization is continuously updating its system to ease any process for its members. In its initiative, it offered missed call and SMS service for information about PF account. Other services like withdrawal through ATM to be started soon.
