Exit Poll Prediction: BJP set to keep Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh

Voting for the second phase of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly ended on Monday. Now the election results of Gujarat as well as Himachal Pradesh are awaited on 8th December. In the next 72 hours, it will be decided whether this time the BJP will make a comeback in both the states or the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will win.

However, in the exit polls that came earlier on Monday, the BJP, which has been in power in Gujarat for 27 years, is seen forming the government for a record 7th time. And in Himachal Pradesh, a close contest is expected between the BJP and the Congress. You didn’t seem to be doing wonders as per the claims.

  1. According to five exit poll surveys, the BJP is expected to form a majority government for a record 7th time in Gujarat. BJP is being claimed to get 117 to 148 seats. The average of the five surveys shows that the BJP is winning around 133 seats this time. In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP got 99 seats. That is, BJP seems to be performing better than last time.

On the other hand, the Congress is expected to suffer a setback once again. Congress has been predicted to get 30 to 51 seats in these five surveys. In Poll of Polls, Congress has been predicted to get an average of 37 seats. In 2017, Congress got 77 seats. That is, compared to 2017, Congress may have to satisfy only half the seats this time.

On the other hand, if we talk about Aam Aadmi Party, here the party can win 3 to 13 seats. According to the poll of polls, AAP is expected to get 8 seats. Overall, the BJP is returning to power this time with a record majority.

The tenure of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly ends on February 18 next year. In the 2017 elections, the BJP had won 99 out of 182 seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Congress had got 77 seats. After the elections, the BJP made Vijay Rupani the chief minister.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s party AAP is also engaged loudly here this time. In such a situation, the competition can also be triangular. Now it remains to be seen that when the counting of votes will take place on December 8, will the BJP form the government for the record 7th time or will the Congress and AAP be able to make a dent in power.

  1. Close contest between BJP and Congress in the hill state of Himachal

According to 8 exit poll surveys, the hill state of Himachal Pradesh is witnessing a close fight between the BJP and the Congress. In these surveys, the BJP is seen between 32 and 40 ie close to majority. However, in four surveys, the Congress party is also seen somewhere around the majority mark. Overall, Congress is getting 27 to 40 seats in all these surveys. At the same time, the account of Aam Aadmi Party is not visible here. Overall, out of these 8 surveys, only two agencies have shown your account opening.

If you look at the average figures of polls of polls, that is, these eight surveys, then this time BJP is getting 33 seats, Congress 26, others 2 and Aam Aadmi Party is not getting even a single seat. Talking about the last year ie 2017 assembly elections, out of 68 seats, BJP got 44 and Congress got 21 seats. Others had lost three seats.

On the exit polls, Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur said that it is being seen in most of the exit polls that the BJP government is going to be formed in Himachal Pradesh. There are 1-2 places where a close fight is being shown. I think we should wait for result day.

Voting was held on November 12 for 68 assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh. This time also the main contest is believed to be between BJP and Congress. Talking about the assembly elections held in 2017, out of 68 seats in the Himachal assembly, BJP had won 44 seats. While the Congress had secured 21 seats. Jairam Thakur was made the Chief Minister.
