Five Indian schools shortlisted for World’s Best School Prizes 2023 – details here

World’s Best School Prizes 2023: In a remarkable achievement for India in the global forum, five aspiration schools from Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra have been shortlisted in the top 10 shortlists across different categories for the second annual USD 250,000 World’s Best School Prizes. The prestigious event is organised in the UK to celebrate schools worldwide for their enormous contribution to society’s progress. 

250,000 World’s Best School Prizes: Five schools shortlisted from India

The Indian schools shortlisted for Second Annual 250,000 World’s Best School Prizes are from Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Founded by T4 Education headquartered in the UK, the prize is organised in collaboration with Accenture, American Express, Yayasan Hasanah, and the Lemann Foundation. 

“Schools across the globe will learn from the story of these trailblazing Indian institutions and the culture they have cultivated,” said Vikas Pota, Founder of T4 Education and the World’s Best School Prizes, news agency PTI said in a report. 

“The schools shortlisted for the World’s Best School Prizes, no matter where they can be found or what they teach, all have one thing in common they all have a strong school culture; their leaders know how to attract and motivate exceptional educators, inspire change, and build excellent teaching and learning environments,” he added as quoted by PTI. 

Nagar Nigam Pratibha Baalika Vidhyalaya

Nagar Nigam Pratibha Baalika Vidhyalaya (NPBV) F-Block, Dilshad Colony-1st, a government school in Delhi that defied convention by offering community-based interventions and support to close the gap between teachers, students, and parents, is one of the Indian schools that made the cut. A girls’ school in Delhi, India is called NPBV.

Oberoi International School

Oberoi International School is one of the contenders in the same category. It is an independent international school in Mumbai that aspires to provide its students and the communities in the area hope, empathy, and shared possibilities.

The Riverside School

The Riverside School, a private international boarding school in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has made the shortlist for the World’s Best School Prize for Innovation. Because of its innovative, student-centered approach to education, particularly through its “I CAN” pedagogical paradigm, the school has won attention on a global scale.

Snehalaya English Medium School

The World’s Best School Prize for Overcoming Adversity has shortlisted Ahmednagar, Maharashtra’s Snehalaya English Medium School. It abolished second-generation prostitution in its district and changed the lives of children with HIV/AIDS and those from families of sex workers.

Shindewadi Mumbai Public School

Shindewadi Mumbai Public School (The Akanksha Foundation), a charter school in Mumbai, is vying for the award in the category Supporting Healthy Lives for its efforts to counteract the effects of low immunity and inadequate nourishment on its student body and larger community following the lockdown. In order to share the best practises of schools that are altering the lives of their students and truly impacting their communities, T4 Education, a digital media platform, created the Prizes in 2022.

Prices to be announced in September 

The top three finalists for all the five World’s Best School Prizes will be announced in September, while winners will be announced in October. The winners will share a prize money of USD 250,000, with each school winning a prize money of USD 50,000.
