Google Year in Search: From famous personalities to food recipes, Know what Indians searched the most in 2022

Google Year in Search: As the year comes to end, we reflect on the year’s events through the lenses of Google. While the Covid-19 pandemic continued to plague 2021, 2022 was refreshing due to the availability of vaccines and immune system boosters, a new freedom on life, as well as some significant worldwide sociopolitical events.

Food enthusiasts appear to have rustled up some dishes by glancing at their recipes online, according to “Google Year in Search 2022,” which offers interesting details of what people looked up online. They included “modak” recipes—a carryover from the previous year—as well as the “pornstar martini,” a drink with a passion fruit flavour.

Which recipe has topped the list?

The most popular recipe on the list, which also included the well-known “sex on the beach” cocktail with vodka, peaches, orange juice, cranberry juice, etc., was paneer pasanda. Surprisingly, “paneer pasanda” also ranked first among international recipes. In addition, Indians searched for recipes for dishes including “chicken soup,” “malai kofta,” “pizza margherita,” “pancake,” “paneer burji,” and “anarse,” a well-known rice-based biscuit that is frequently eaten during the Diwali festival in areas like Maharashtra and Bihar. The ingredients include ghee, rice, poppy seeds, and jaggery.

Along with searching for food, Indians also looked for Wordle gameplay, specifically “Wordle how to play.” Additionally, they requested information on “how to prepare banana bread” and “how to stop motions while pregnant.”
