Group Captain Varun Singh, sole survivor of IAF chopper crash passes away

Group Captain Varun Singh, who was injured in the helicopter crash, is also no more. The Indian Air Force has informed on Wednesday that Group Captain Varun Singh, who was injured in the chopper crash of the Air Force, has passed away. He was the last survivor in this accident.

On December 8, 13 out of 14 people lost their lives when the Mi-17 helicopter crashed. In this accident, neither of the country first CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat could survive.

Group Captain Varun Singh was a resident of Khorma Kanholi village in Deoria, UP. He was being treated at a hospital in Wellington. Doctors from Bangalore and Pune were treating him. Varun has been a batchmate of Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman. Abhinandan Varthaman had driven out Pakistani planes that entered India’s border on 27 February 2019.

Captain Varun Singh was born in Delhi. His age was 42 years. His father Krishna Pratap Singh had retired as a colonel in the army. Varun younger brother Tanuj Singh is in the Navy in Mumbai. His wife Geetanjali and him has a son Raman and daughter Aaradhya.
