Hisar Airport is soon going to provide direct flights under the UDAN 5.2 program to cities such as Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad—a major advancement of regional connectivity in northern India, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities! Fly Big has been issued the Air Operator Permit from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and the route will be operational soon.

Travel times will vastly improve—e.g., Chandigarh will take 45 minutes, Jaipur will be under an hour, and Ahmedabad will take about 2 hours, therefore providing economical and expedient alternatives to road and rail for shorter distance travel.

Economic and Social Boost for Western Haryana

Residents of western Haryana are the biggest beneficiaries of this development, and faster airline travel than ever before. Air connectivity to Hisar will indeed boost business and tourist travel, and investment in the local economy. In addition, improved transport connectivity will aid education and agriculture and support local industry, as Hisar airport will provide easy access to markets and schools in other cities. The proposed flights from Hisar airport are less about connectivity and more about far-reaching infrastructure that will fundamentally shape the economic future of the region.

Hisar Airport’s Upgraded Infrastructure and Future Vision

Maharaja Agrasen Airport, also known as Hisar Airport, has recently undergone significant upgrades, including an extended runway, a modernized terminal, and the addition of night landing capabilities. These improvements are not only essential for meeting government aviation regulations but also aim to support the launch of potential commercial flight routes. Initially, the airport introduced flights to cities such as Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad.

In the future, there is potential to expand connectivity to major metros like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. With these developments, Hisar is gradually emerging as a promising aviation hub in North India. While the airport was previously seen as a point of regional connectivity, the term “Flights from Hisar Airport” now signifies Haryana’s growing role in India’s aviation sector, driven by deregulation, infrastructure advancement, and strategic planning.
