In a significant boost to regional air connectivity, the Hisar-Chandigarh flight has received official clearance and is set to commence operations from June 9. This new air route is expected to dramatically reduce travel time between the two cities — from approximately 4 hours by road to just 45 minutes by air.

Affordable Travel Option: Fares Up to ₹3,000

The initial ticket price is expected to be up to ₹3,000, making it a convenient and economical option for travelers, especially business commuters, government officials, and students. The direct flight service will operate under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, which aims to enhance air connectivity in smaller cities at affordable rates.

Boost for Hisar Airport and Local Economy

This development marks a major milestone for the Hisar airport, which has been gradually expanding its operations. The launch of this flight is also expected to spur economic growth in Hisar and nearby areas by improving accessibility to the state capital, Chandigarh.

Game-Changer for Frequent Travelers

Currently, travelers between Hisar and Chandigarh rely heavily on personal vehicles or buses, which take up to 4 hours to cover the 240-km distance. The new flight service will save time, reduce fatigue, and offer a faster alternative for intercity travel.

Officials confirmed that all technical and operational preparations are complete, and the service will take off from June 9 onwards, with regular schedules and bookings to be made available shortly.

This move is being hailed as a game-changer in Haryana’s domestic air network.

The new route is also expected to encourage tourism and improve administrative coordination between Hisar and Chandigarh. With increased ease of travel, students, professionals, and patients seeking specialized treatment in Chandigarh will benefit significantly. Officials believe this initiative will also attract private investment in Hisar and nearby regions. More flight routes from Hisar are likely to follow, expanding connectivity across northern India.
