Haryana News: Following the outbreak of intense violent clashes in Nuh, Haryana on July 31st, a Hindu organization has received official authorisation from the police to convene a grand assembly in Palwal. The purpose of this assembly is to deliberate on arrangements for resuming the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, which was hindered due to incidents of stone pelting that took place on the same day.

The approval was initially denied

The approval for this gathering was granted subsequent to the initial denial of the mahapanchayat request by Nuh authorities due to concerns over security. The Palwal Superintendent of Police has affirmed the decision to permit the assembly. Scheduled to be held at Pondri village within the Palwal district, adjacent to Nuh, the mahapanchayat is being conducted by Sarv Hindu Samaj.

Its primary objective is to deliberate upon the recommencement of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession that was abruptly terminated due to the eruption of violence in Nuh. This procession faced assault from unruly groups, tragically resulting in the loss of six lives, including two home guards and a religious leader.

The procession’s course through Nuh, a region predominantly inhabited by Muslims, encountered opposition that escalated into communal confrontations. VHP division minister Devender Singh stated, “All the Hindu groups decided to complete the yatra on August 28 which was attacked on July 31 in Nuh. Hope that the yatra will be completed with admiration and enthusiasm.”

Violence in Nuh

In the vicinity of Nand village within the Nuh district, a rally led by VHP workers faced an unsettling incident as a group of people pelted stones at the procession. Tensions escalated rapidly, resulting in clashes characterised by vehicle burnings and further stone-throwing. These confrontations were triggered by reports concerning the presence of Monu Manesar, an individual implicated in the cow vigilante and Bhiwani deaths case, visiting the Mewat region.
