Heavy rain expected in Tamil Nadu due to northeast monsoon, Orange Alert in Kerala

In many states of the country, the reversal of the weather is going on, somewhere it is raining and snowing, while somewhere mild winter has knocked. The Indian Meteorological Department has said in its latest update that there is a possibility of heavy rain at many places of Tamil Nadu within the next 2 days. The possibility of heavy to very heavy rains has been expressed in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar districts of the state.

The IMD has said that ‘the southwest monsoon has now bid farewell to the entire country. Monsoon has made a late return for the 7th time in the 46th year, but a cyclonic pressure is persisting in many areas of the country, due to which the rains are still continuing in many states. At present, the northeast monsoon seems to be active and due to this, it is raining in the south.’

Apart from Tamil Nadu, the IMD has also predicted heavy rains in Karnataka, Chennai and Kerala. Orange alert has also been issued for 26 October in four districts of Kerala. The four districts are Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki. Rain is expected in Karnataka today and tomorrow while in Andhra on 28-29 October.

So there will be a difference in day and night temperature in the states of North India. The Meteorological Department has said on Monday that this time in January and February, winter may be more. Due to the active La Nina, there is a possibility of cold winter this time.

So at the same time, private weather information organization Skymet has said that the northeast monsoon has become active, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu. The Northeast Monsoon is the main rainy season for the state of Tamil Nadu. Due to this rainfall occurs over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Kerala and Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. This season is from October to December. Due to this monsoon, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu between October 28 and 30 with lightning and strong winds.
