In a strong message to adversaries, particularly Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the Indian Navy's silent yet decisive role during Operation Sindoor, while hinting at the Navy's preparedness to lead any future action if provoked.
’If Pakistan Does Any Unholy Act...' Rajnath Singh
Speaking at a public event, Singh stated, “During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Navy has impressed every Indian with its silent service. Despite remaining silent, the Navy succeeded in tying down the Pakistani Army. Just imagine what would happen when someone who can keep an entire country's army locked in a bottle even without speaking, decides to speak up?”
He Further Warns
He further warned, “This time, Pakistan did not have to face the firepower of the Indian Navy, but the world knows—if Pakistan does any unholy act this time, it is possible that this time the opening will be done by our Navy.”
The statement has come amid growing concerns over cross-border tensions and increased naval activity in the Indian Ocean region. Defence experts see Singh’s remark as a reaffirmation of India's robust maritime capabilities and a strategic message to hostile forces.
Highlighting India’s evolving defence strategy, Singh praised the Navy’s ability to operate effectively under stealth, calling it one of the most disciplined and potent arms of the Indian military.
He reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening the armed forces, emphasizing the importance of indigenisation, modern warfare technology, and readiness to counter any threat to national sovereignty.
Referring to Pakistan’s repeated provocations and history of harboring terror networks, Singh made it clear that India’s tolerance has limits. “This time, Pakistan did not have to face the firepower of the Indian Navy. But if Pakistan repeats any unholy act, it is possible that the opening strike will come from our Navy,” he warned.
The Defence Minister also highlighted the evolution of India’s maritime force, which has transitioned from a traditional blue-water navy to a cutting-edge, strategic force capable of deep-sea operations, surveillance, and deterrence.
