Imran Khan’s Love-Hate Relationship with India continues – Once again praises India for its Independent Sovereign Policy

Imran Khan: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again applauded India for its independent foreign policy and its purchase of Russian oil in line with its national interests despite Western pressure amid the Ukraine war.

Imran Khan’s love-hate relations with arch-rivals India continue as he started a long-promised march on Friday to the nation’s capital, Islamabad with thousands of his committed supporters, to challenge the government of his political adversaries and demand early elections.

During his first speech after being debarred from elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said ‘while India can import oil from Russia at its will however Pakistanis are a slave who failed to make decisions for the welfare of their country’s people

Imran Khan claimed that his ouster in a parliament no-confidence vote in April was unlawful, and a conspiracy by his political opponents orchestrated by the United States — a charge denied by both Washington and Pakistan’s new premier, Shahbaz Sharif.

‘India can take oil from Russia but slave Pakistanis are not allowed.

He further advocated that the decisions of this nation must be made within the nation. If Russia is providing fuel at discount one should exercise his will to save money for his countrymen and no one should object. He said ‘India can take oil from Russia but slave Pakistanis are not allowed. “I want to see a free country and justice must prevail and people should be provided safety and security,” Imran Khan said.

He claimed while common Pakistanis are suffering, the ruling party members are acquitted of rampant corruption. He warned that the common man is watching all the fraudulent activities and will sacrifice everything for the sake of his country.

Imran Khan further reiterated that in his political struggle spanning 26 years, this is the most crucial journey and he singled out his aim and said. ‘We were freed from the British and it is time we start the ‘Haqiqi Azadi’. This is my message to all Pakistanis. This march is not for politics and not for elections or religion. There is only one motive for the rally that I want to make Pakistan free.”

Imran Khan cannot avoid India

Imran Khan has a habit of cursing India as well as praising it at regular intervals. And this is his love-hate relationship with India. He likes India or not but he cannot afford to avoid India. Earlier on 14th August, Khan had lauded India for its independent foreign policy, as the leader slammed Western countries for being critical of India for buying Russian oil.

Before this, in May, Khan had pra

ised India for pursuing its “independent” foreign policy and challenged the US who couldn’t dare to dictate India to its terms.

He further disparaged Pakistan while comparing it with India “If India got independence at the same time as Pakistan and if New Delhi can take a firm stand and make their foreign policy to suit their needs then why the present dispensation (Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif government) toeing the lines of US.” He added “India is although trading with Iran but the US prefers not to raise objections.

Imran Khan played a Video Clip of S Jaishankar in his rally

Khan also played out External Affairs Minister Jaishankar’s video clip at a rally to elucidate his point further.

The US tried to coerce India’s foreign minister S. Jaishankar from buying fuel from Russia, however, Jaishankar refused to budge and asserted that India is a sovereign country and cannot be dictated by anyone.

Jaishankar made the following remarks at the GLOBSEC 2022 Bratislava Forum in Slovakia in June on the topic ‘Taking Friendship to the Next Level: Allies in the Indo-Pacific Region.

Imran Khan alleged that he wanted to buy discounted oil from Russia to benefit the poor, but his government was sent packing through a conspiracy hatched by the US and its three stooges — Sharif, Asif Zardari and Fazlur Rehman.

Khan clarified that in no terms he is “anti-American” and wants a “friendly relationship” with the US, instead of becoming their “slave.” He added that he had enjoyed “good ties” with former US president Donald Trump, and boasted about the special protocol he received from Trump during his visit to the US.
