The Health Ministry of India has stated that an early licence is possible for all or any of the three indigenous COVID vaccines which are under active consideration of India’s drug regulator.
Over the last four days, the Indian arm of US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, Pune-based Serum Institute of India and Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical firm Bharat Biotech have registered for approval to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) seeking emergency use authorisation for their potential COVID-19 vaccines.
As of now the central government is discussing with the states and union territories for the roll out plan when the vaccines will be ready to go in the markets.
