“India’s biggest car thief” Anil Chauhan arrested by Delhi Police

Anil Chauhan was arrested on Monday by Delhi Police on accusation of stealing more than 5,000 car from various locations across the nation. The police claim that Anil leads a lavish lifestyle and owns numerous houses in Delhi, Mumbai, and the North East.

According to a report on NDTV, he was caught by the Special Staff of the Central Delhi Police in the Desh Bandhu Gupta Road neighbourhood.

Over 5,000 cars have reportedly been stolen by the accused in the previous 27 years. The police claim that Anil is currently active in summgling weapons.

He is accused of providing guns to outlawed groups in the North East. Six weapons and seven rounds were found on him by police. Anil has previously been taken into custody. He was arrested in 2015 and spent five years in prison before being freed in 2020.

180 cases have been filed against him.

According to the authorities, Anil is married three times and has seven kids. He had connected with local authorities in Assam after becoming a government contractor there. Six weapons and seven rounds were found on him by police.
