India’s first elevated highway to be completed by December: Nitin Gadkari

On Thursday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visited the 29-kilometer-long Dwarka expressway’s ongoing construction site. Gadkari said during the inspection that the project will likely be finished in three to four months and opened before December.

“The project, which costs Rs 10,000 crore, is 75-90 per cent complete”, he said while inspecting the stretch along with Delhi L-G VK Saxena, Union Ministers of State General VK Singh, Rao Inderjit Singh, MPs Parvesh Singh Verma and Ramesh Bidhuri.

The first elevated urban highway and first single-pillar flyover in the nation are found on the 29 km long Dwarka highway, which has eight lanes.

Gurgaon residents would find it easier to travel due to the project

Gurgaon residents would find it easier to travel due to the project, which will cut the travel time from Dwarka to IGI Airport to only five minutes. The motorway, he added, is a component of a 65,000 crore plan to relieve congestion in Delhi and the surrounding areas.

The project has been divided up into four packages, the first of which, according to Gadkari, is almost 60% finished and runs from Shiv Murti near Mahipalpur to Dwarka.

About 80% of the second package, which runs from Dwarka Urban Extension Road to Bajghera, is finished, while 90% of the third package, which runs from Bajghera to the Basai rail overbridge (which crosses the Delhi-Haryana border), is.

About 99% of the fourth delivery from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula has been delivered.

The service road on the highway will feature six lanes, making it simple for Gurgaon residents to commute.

According to Gadkari, the project also includes a 3.6-km tunnel, the widest 8-lane tunnel in the nation, that will allow travellers to travel from Dwarka to IGI Airport Terminal 3 in only five minutes.
