The police administration used an AI-based application to identify faces and assist police officers in locating people. It has been deployed at Navyug Tunnel Banihal. The technique for identifying criminals using AI tools is reported to be capable of identifying suspects travelling inside a vehicle while wearing a mask.

“The AI-based facial recognition tool has been set up and activated at the Navyuga tunnel’s checkpoint in Banihal, signifying an important step towards strengthening security measures,” the high-ranking source said.
