K. Kavitha has been summoned again for questioning over Delhi excise scam case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the Delhi Excise scam case, on Tuesday arrested Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s (KCR) daughter and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Legislative Council member K. Kavitha has been summoned again for questioning on 11 December. The daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is learned to have requested for adjournment of the interrogation from Tuesday to any date between December 11-15, to which the agency has given its consent.

Earlier, the central agency had summoned Kavitha for questioning on December 6. The CBI had issued a notice under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) to Kavitha on December 2, asking her to inform about a suitable place for questioning as per her convenience on December 6 at 11 am.

In the notice sent to Kavitha, the CBI had said, “During the investigation of the Delhi Excise scam case, some facts have come to the fore, of which you (Kavitha) may be aware.” Therefore, in the interest of investigation, it is necessary to inquire about such facts from you.

In a remand report filed by the Enforcement

Directorate (ED) in a Delhi court in connection with alleged bribery in the Delhi liquor scam, K. After Kavitha’s name came up, she had said that she is ready to face any investigation.
