Kanpur: Pitbull and rottweiler breeds of dogs are not permitted inside the city limits of Kanpur. This happened after a pitbull attacked a cow in Sarsaiya Ghat in Kanpur.
“Pitbull and rottweiler dogs have been outlawed in the city limits to safeguard the general population. This decision was made following a Pitbull dog attack on a cow at Sarsaiya Ghat and in light of an increase in Pitbull dog assaults”, according to Kanpur’s mayor, Pramila Pandey.

A video of a pitbull dog biting a cow in Uttar Pradesh recently went viral online amid a recent uptick in canine, pet, and stray attacks.

In the footage, the vicious dog could be seen hanging on the cow’s jaw and muzzle while appearing unconcerned and unaffected by his owner’s commands. Only after intervention from neighbours and the dog’s owner, who struck the dog with a cane staff, did it release its grip on the cow’s face.

Four pitbull dogs have been left with inhabitants of Sarsaiya Ghat, according to sources. They have expressed worries about their kids, cattle, and pets.
