CM Arvind Kejriwal: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail on Saturday in the Delhi Excise Policy case by Delhi Rouse Avenue court, ahead of the approaching Lok Sabha elections.

Courtroom Appearance

Kejriwal earlier departed from his home in the nation’s capital to appear before the Court about the case. “CM Arvind Kejriwal was called by the court today. When he appeared in court, the judge granted him bail.” When it came to Kejriwal being granted bail by the Rouse Avenue Court in two instances brought by the ED for failing to appear at an agency summons, counsel Sanjeev Nasiar stated, “We didn’t move any application for exemption from appearing.”

ED Ordered to Provide Documents to CM Kejriwal

Kejriwal was also let to leave the courtroom by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Divya Malhotra’s court. “Offence being bailable, accused Arvind Kejriwal is admitted to bail,” added the statement. The court also ordered the ED to provide Kejriwal with any documents pertaining to the complaints.

This comes after a Delhi court directed the Chief Minister of Delhi to appear before it on Saturday after rejecting Arvind Kejriwal’s request to stay the summons on complaints filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday.
