Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, paid homage to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the Pulwama Attack on its sixth anniversary. He saluted their sacrifice and expressed that India will never forget their bravery.

Rahul Gandhi's Tribute to Pulwama Martyrs

On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to honour the 40 CRPF jawans who were martyred in the deadly terror attack. In his post, he wrote, "I pay my heartfelt salute and humble tribute to our brave soldiers martyred in the Pulwama terrorist attack. India will never forget their supreme sacrifice."

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also paid tribute, calling the soldiers' courage and sacrifice "indomitable." He added, "As an indebted nation, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our Pulwama martyrs. Their selfless service to Bharat Mata will always be remembered."

Similarly, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra honoured the soldiers, stating, "Salute and heartfelt tribute to our brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the Pulwama terrorist attack. The country will always be indebted to their bravery. Jai Hind."

The Tragic Pulwama Attack

On February 14, 2019, a terrorist from the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group carried out a suicide bombing on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama’s Lethpora area, leading to the loss of 40 soldiers. The devastating attack shook the entire nation and triggered a strong response from India.

India's Retaliation – Balakot Airstrikes

Following the attack, the Indian Air Force (IAF) launched an airstrike on terror training camps in Balakot, Pakistan. This decision, taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marked one of India’s strongest counter-terrorism responses.

While Pakistan denied the damage caused by the strikes, it failed to counter India’s military action, further escalating tensions between the two nations. The Pulwama attack and its aftermath remain a significant moment in India's fight against terrorism.
