Mann Ki Baat: During his 99th episode of the monthly radio show “Mann Ki Baat,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked people to donate their organs in greater numbers. According to the prime minister, 5,000 cases of organ donation were reported in 2013, and more than 15,000 cases are expected to be reported in 2022.

Ababat Kaur became the youngest donor at the age of 39 days

The PM spoke with Sukhbir Singh and his wife Supreet Kaur of Amritsar, Punjab, whose daughter Ababat Kaur became the youngest donor at the age of 39 days, during the programme. Sukhbir Singh said, “Our daughter had a tumour in her brain, and after fighting for many days, she passed away on the 39th day. However, we thought there was some purpose for this baby to come into this world, so we decided to donate her organ.”

PM Modi praised director and producer of the Oscar-winning documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’

The director and producer of the Oscar-winning documentary “The Elephant Whisperers,” Guneet Monga, were praised by the prime minister for bringing honour to the nation and highlighting the “Nari Shakti.” He also mentioned Jyotirmayi Mohanty, a scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center, who made another accomplishment for the nation and was given a special award from IUPAC in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering. Surekha Yadav, Asia’s first female loco pilot, was also mentioned. She broke a record by becoming the first woman loco pilot of the Vande Bharat Express. Two female lawmakers have now been elected to the Nagaland Vidhan Sabha for the first time in 75 years, according to Modi.

India’s first district to provide all daytime demands with 100% clean energy

The Premier discussed India’s solar mission after talking about women’s emancipation. He described the strategy used by the residents of Pune’s MSR-Olive Housing Society, who, as part of the “Sabka Prayas” project, have chosen to run items like drinking water, lifts, and lights in society using purely solar energy, producing about 90,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. According to the PM, Diu is now India’s first district to provide all daytime demands with 100% clean energy. He continued, “Sabbka Prayas is also the mantra of this success of Diu.”
