Meerut News: The Husband of a 35 year old woman lawyer was taken into custody by the police for being involved in her killing. The lawyer Anjali Garg was shot dead on Wednesday at the T P Nagar area by some unidentified people when she was returning home after buying some groceries. Anjali received a bullet in her head and collapsed at the gate of her house in the New Mewla colony. She was declared dead after being rushed to the hospital. Anjali had also approached the cops a few days ago citing a threat to her life.
Police: Property dispute behind murder
According the Police the woman lawyer was having some issues with her in laws and husband Rohit Verma over some Property dispute. Police has made Rohit Verma a suspect in the case. The cops got a tip off that Rohit Verma was moving towards the bypass on a bike. When the cops tried to stop him, he opened fired at the Police. Rohit Verma was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital.
The victim’s Father in law is also taken into custody for questioning.
Lawyer’s Bar Association demands Justice for the victim
The Police has also recoverd a country made pistol and ammunition. Cops has also seized his bike from the scene. Police also said that we they have taken the Father in law into custody for questioning. The Bar Association had organized a condolence meeting and has decided to meet the senior cops to demand the arrest of the culprits involved in the case.
