The scheme was launched by the government to help daughters from low-income families meet the expenses of their weddings. This initiative is focused on social progress and assisting girls from poor communities so that their move to the next phase of life happens with pride and honour.

Key Benefits of the Scheme

If a family is eligible, it will get a marriage grant of ₹51,000 for every daughter’s marriage. From the total amount, ₹43,000 is sent into the bride’s bank account, and ₹5,000 is given to the person in charge of making all the wedding arrangements. The last ₹3,000 is set aside for buying housewares such as utensils and clothes.

This help for low-income families reduces their stress during weddings and stops them from running up debt.
