NEET PG 2023 Exam: Supreme Court Dismisses Postponement Plea

NEET PG 2023 Exam: On Monday, Supreme Court dismissed the please to postpone the NEET PG 2023 exam, The exam was scheduled for March 5, 2023. The two petitions submitted by the applicants asking for the all-India medical entrance exam to be postponed by three months were not taken into consideration by a bench of Justices S. Ravindra Bhat and Dipankar Datta.

Many candidates and a few experts thought it wise to postpone the NEET PG 2023 date so that students can utilise the opportunity to study for the exam more effectively because counselling cannot start before August 11.

Just a small portion of people had requested a postponement

According to Assistant Solicitor General (ASG) Aishwarya Bhati, just 6,000 students applied during the second window, while the rest 2.03 lakh applicants finished their applications during the first window. Thus, she explained, just a small portion of people had requested a postponement.

The petitioners’ senior advocate, Gopal Sankaranarayanan, told the bench that although 13 petitioners had filed cases with the Supreme Court, the problem they raised was relevant to almost 45,000 applicants.

He claimed that the time between the internship deadline and the exam was seldom more than two months.

2.09 lakh students had registered for NEET PG 2023

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) informed the Supreme Court on Friday that around 2.09 lakh students had registered for NEET PG 2023, and that if it were postponed, a new date might not be accessible for some time.
