A fiery video featuring Asad Iqbal, Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, has gone viral on social media after he launched a direct verbal attack on Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir. The remarks, laced with raw anger and defiance, have sparked intense debate across the country and beyond.
“This old man is ready to face bullets of the Pakistan Army. In the future, people of Pakistan will throw stones at you on the streets. You can’t hide.”

Calling General Munir “ghatia” (lowly) and accusing him of lacking “insaniyat” (humanity), Iqbal’s emotional outburst reflects the growing frustration among segments of civil society over the military's alleged overreach, suppression of dissent, and human rights violations in the country
The comments were reportedly made during a public event or protest, though the exact location and date of the video are yet to be confirmed. The clip has since been widely shared on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and WhatsApp, triggering both support and backlash.
Iqbal’s statements follow weeks of criticism aimed at the Pakistani establishment for what activists describe as the silencing of political voices, particularly following the crackdown on supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Many on social media are praising Iqbal for his boldness, calling it “the voice of truth,” while others accuse him of irresponsibility and inciting unrest.
As of now, the Pakistan Army has not issued any official response to the viral video.
