After a pause of two days petrol and diesel prices were hiked again across the country on Friday. Petrol prices increased by ₹0.35 paise to ₹105.14 per litre in the national capital while the price of diesel was raised by the same amount to ₹93.87 per litre.
In Delhi, petrol and diesel prices were raised by Rs 0.35 per litre to Rs 105.14 per litre and Rs 93.87 per litre respectively.
In Mumbai, petrol became dearer by Rs 0.34-a-litre to Rs 111.09 for a litre on Thursday, the highest across all the four metro cities. Diesel, in the financial capital, was raised by Rs 0.37 to Rs 101.78. Diesel prices have gone by Rs 5.27 per litre with 17 hikes in the last 20 days with an average hike of Rs 0.20 to Rs 0.35 during the period.
In Bengaluru, petrol is now sold at Rs 108.80 per litre and diesel at Rs 99.63. In Hyderabad, a litre of petrol is now costs Rs 109.37 and diesel cost Rs 102.42 for one litre of diesel.
Petrol price crosses Rs 100 in these states
The price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Petrol price is highest in Mumbai.
Difference in the price of petrol and diesel in the states varies due to the tax and the cost of transportation imposed by the central and state government.
