PM Modi addresses new office bearers at first in person meeting chaired by JP Nadda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed a meeting where BJP’s new set of national office-bearers were in attendance. The meeting chaired by party chief JP Nadda saw BJP leaders meeting for the first time in person since covid-19 outbreak.

Before starting his address, PM Modi paid his tributes to the people who have lost their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic. The meeting also saw presence of BJP state unit presidents and other veteran leaders.

The meeting comes at a time when the country struggles with a number of issues including farmers’ protests, upward trend in coronavirus cases and hike in fuel prices.

Meanwhile, it is also assumed that PM Modi discussed strategy regarding the upcoming assembly polls in five states, including West Bengal, where party aims to expand its territory. The Election Commission is expected to announce the poll dates for the states early next month.

For the uninformed, the new office bearers who attended the meeting today were appointed last year after Nadda took over as party president. Since no physical meeting could take place last year due to gatherings being restricted in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the new bearers were called met today for the first time.
