PM Modi asks Sonia Gandhi about her health, she says she is fine

PM Modi

PM Modi: At the start of the Monsoon Session of the Parliament, PM Modi went up to Sonia Gandhi and asked her about her health. Gandhi said she was feeling fine. On Wednesday, Gandhi’s son and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had posted a photo showing Sonia wearing an emergency mask in a Delhi-bound flight. Describing the photo, he wrote ,”epitome of grace under pressure.” The mother-son duo were returning from Bengaluru to Delhi when their chartered flight had to make an emergency landing at Bhopal. Later, both the Gandhis resumed their journey to Delhi by a regular IndiGo flight. They were in Bengaluru attending a two-day conference on opposition unity. At the time of writing, there was no Twitter post from Sonia Gandhi thanking PM Modi for his concern. The ex-Congress President doesn’t have an Instagram account.

Opposition party meeting at Bengaluru

Sonia Gandhi chaired a meeting on opposition unity in Bengaluru. This meeting was attended by more than 20 political parties which included the Trinamool Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party, the Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction), and the Samajwadi Party. The meeting deliberated on how to counter Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Modi has been the PM of India for 9 years now. The Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) also attended the Bengaluru meeting after receiving an assurance from the Congress that the former would oppose the Delhi Ordinance in the Parliament. However, it is not clear how the Congress will benefit from its assurance to Kejariwal’s party. Both parties are rivals in Delhi and Punjab.

From UPA to I.N.D.I.A

The Bengaluru meeting saw the UPA assume a new name – I.N.D.I.A. This acronym stands for Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.
