PM Modi bows before Padma recipients Tulsi Gowda and Sukri Bommagowda, seeks blessings

PM Modi: During his visit to Karnataka’s Uttar Kannada area on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tulsi Gowda and Sukri Bommagowda, two deserving Padma recipients. Before addressing a crowd of the general public at Ankola in the district, he took the opportunity to speak with the inspirational women and ask for their blessing.

PM Modi is seen humbly prostrating before the award recipients and asking for their blessings. PM Modi stopped Tulsi Gowda when she attempted to touch his feet, bowed in front of the two women, and asked for their blessings. The Prime Minister was also shown the utmost respect by Tulsi Gowda and Sukri Bommagowda, one of them even gave him a heartfelt hug.

Who are Tulsi Gowda and Sukri Bommagowda?

In 2021, environmentalist Tulsi Gowda received the Padma Shri. Gowda has planted over 30,000 seedlings and is a native of the Karnataka village of Honnali. She currently oversees the nurseries for the forest department. Gowda is a tribal member of the Halakki tribe from Karnataka, and because of her in-depth understanding of several plant and herb species, she is sometimes referred to as the Encyclopaedia of Forests. Sukri Bommagowda received the third-highest Padma Shri honour in the nation in 2017 for folk singing. She is referred to as the “nightingale of the Halakki Vokkaliga tribes” by the general public. PM Modi addressed a group of kids before starting the roadshow after seeing them supporting him and got into a cute dialogue with them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently performed a series of big roadshows and public gatherings in the election-bound state of Karnataka, greatly bolstering the BJP’s electoral campaign there.
