PM Modi pays tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on death anniversary

Today (January 30) is the 75th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Today, an all-religion prayer is to be organized at Bapu’s tomb at Rajghat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay tribute to Bapu at Rajghat at 11 am. Earlier, he tweeted and saluted Bapu on his death anniversary. The PM said that he remembers his deep thoughts.

The date of January 30 is recorded as a black day in the history of the country. January 30, 1948 is the same date when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse. This day had become a day of loss for the whole country, so in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, India celebrates his death anniversary as Martyr’s Day.

PM Modi said, “I bow to Bapu on his death anniversary and remember his profound thoughtsI pay tribute to all those who were martyred in the service of the nation. Bapu’s sacrifices will never be forgotten and will continue to strengthen our resolve to work for a developed India.”

Every year on 30 January, the President, the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister and the chiefs of the three services (Army, Air Force and Navy) pay homage at the mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in Delhi. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to Bapu on his death anniversary. He tweeted that the path shown by him for world peace and India’s progress is very relevant even today. Due to his inspiration, the construction of a new and self-reliant India is progressing today.
