Prime Minister Narendra Modi firmly dismissed the idea that the Adani Group case was a topic of discussion during his recent bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump. When asked whether the issue was raised, PM Modi sharply responded, stating that such matters are not discussed at the leadership level between two nations.

PM Modi- Heads of 2 countries don't meet to discuss private individuals

Speaking on the matter, PM Modi emphasized India's democratic values and global outlook. He stated, "India is a democracy, and our culture is 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'—we consider the whole world as one family. I believe every Indian is mine. Two prominent leaders of two countries never discuss such individual issues." His remarks made it clear that his talks with President Trump focused on broader diplomatic and strategic matters, rather than any specific corporate concerns.
During his substantive and productive visit to the United States, PM Modi held four-hour-long discussions with President Trump at the White House. The talks covered a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global issues, strengthening the strategic ties between India and the US.
This visit marked PM Modi’s first trip to the US after President Trump began his second term in office. The two leaders reportedly engaged in discussions that reinforced economic, defense, and geopolitical cooperation between the two nations.
In November last year, the US Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) unsealed an indictment in the Eastern District of New York, linking Indian business executives, including Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, to an alleged bribery scheme.
However, the Adani Group strongly denied the allegations, calling them "baseless" and refuting any wrongdoing by its executives. Despite these legal developments, PM Modi’s recent remarks suggest that the issue has not impacted high-level diplomatic engagements between India and the US.
With the Prime Minister's clear stance on the matter, focus remains on India-US relations and their broader strategic goals.
