PM Narendra Modi greets people on ‘Ashadhi Ekadashi’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted all the countrymen on Ashadhi Ekadashi 2021. According to the Hindu calendar, Ashadhi Ekadashi is celebrated on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashadha. It is also called Devshayani Ekadashi, Maha Ekadashi, Pratham Ekadashi, Padma Ekadashi, Harishyani Ekadashi.

According to Hindu scriptures, from this day Lord Vishnu goes to sleep for four months. PM Modi said on this special occasion that we pray that Lord Vitthal give full happiness and better health to all.

PM Narendra Modi tweeted on Tuesday (July 20), “My greetings to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi. On this special day, I pray to Lord Vitthal to bless us with lots of happiness and good health. The Warkari movement represents our finest traditions and emphasizes on harmony and equality.”

Ashadhi Ekadashi is an important day for Hindus. It is said that the story of Devshayani Ekadashi and the benefits of observing this fast was narrated by Lord Brahma to his son Narada and Lord Krishna to King Yudhishthira among the Pandavas in the ‘Bhavishyottara Purana’.
