PM Narendra Modi to launch Mahakal Lok Corridor today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar temple today, at 6 p. m., dedicated to Lord Shiva which has been constructed on the basis of “Shiv Leela” (108 murals and 93 statues illustrating stories relating to Lord Shiva).

Ujjain is prepared for the big occasion, with enormous TV screens for the live telecast and oil lamps strung across the railings of the 600-meter-long Hari Phatak bridge leading to the Mahakaleshwar temple. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the state’s chief minister, has called for Diwali-style celebrations to honour the anniversary.

The Mahakal Maharaj Mandir Parisar Vistar Yojna project is a thorough development plan for enlarging, enhancing, and clearing the temple grounds.

The building of the Mahakal Lok Corridor with a visitor plaza that has two entrances—Nandi Dwaar and Pinaki Dwaar—represents the project’s initial phase. A 900-meter-long pedestrian corridor has been built connecting Mahakal Temple to 108 murals and 93 statues of Lord Shiva along the way. The plaza will have amenities like ticketing kiosks.

The PM is scheduled to arrive in Indore at 5.30 p.m. He will then take another helicopter to Ujjain, where he will participate in the “sandhya aarti” before opening the corridor. Along with the CM, he will speak at a “aam sabha” at the close-by Karthikey ground following the unveiling.
