Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: As a “Holi gift,” the Yogi Adityanath government will provide impoverished women and their families a free LPG cylinder, a government official announced here.
Ujjwala Yojana’s Annual Gift
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana would give two free cylinders every year, according to the government’s decision. The second cylinder will be given out during Holi as part of this programme; the first cylinder was made accessible during Diwali, he stated on Saturday.
For the fiscal year 2023–2024, the state government has set aside Rs 2,312 crore to give two free cylinder refills to roughly 1.75 crore state beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
80.30 Lakh Beneficiaries Receive Ujjwala Cylinder Refills
A total of 80.30 lakh recipients received cylinder refills in the scheme’s first phase, which ran from November 1, 2023, to February 15, 2024. Between January 1, 2024, to the present, cylinder refills were given to almost 50.87 lakh recipients as part of the second phase.
Over 1.31 Crore Cylinder Refills Distributed Across the State
“A total of 131.17 lakh (over 1.31 crore) cylinder refills have been distributed thus far under the scheme. Upon launching the scheme on November 10, 2023, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath simultaneously transferred the subsidy amount to the accounts of lakhs of Ujjwala beneficiaries,” the spokesman added.
