Price Rise: Congress Mahila Morcha Protest outside BJP Office in New Delhi. The protesting woman were seen holding placards which read-‘ Tamatar 100 ke paar, bahut mehengi hai bhajpa ki Sarkaar’ . The Protest was held after the prices of vegetables stared touching the sky with the tomatoes costing 120 Rs / kg and ginger prices sold at Rs 300/ kg in Odisha. According to sources, the unavailability of ginger in the Godown is said to be the main cause for the soaring prices.

Ginger at 300 Rs/ kg, Green chilli at 350-400/ kg

It is becoming difficult for the common man to run the household due to the high prices of all the vegetables touching sky since the last 10 days. The Farmers of the Korapur district sell ginger to the traders between Rs 8-10 throughout the year, but this time the farmers were in a tight spot due to the unavailability of the ginger in the stores.

Govt Sources: Prices will come down in 15 days

The demand for ginger from Odisha is increasing everywhere in the country. Instead of benefiting from the situation and look for more productive ideas, the Government is slowly creating a situation where both farmer and common man will suffer.
