Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann got married to Gurpreet Kaur, a doctor, at his residence in Chandigarh on Thursday. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal arrived at Mann’s residence for the wedding. Speaking to reporters before heading to Chandigarh, Kejriwal wished Mann a happy married life as he “embarks on a new journey”.
This is Mann’s second marriage. An MBBS degree holder from Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, Ambala, Kaur is the youngest of three sisters. It is believed to be an arranged marriage, with Mann’s mother Harpal Kaur being familiar with Kaur’s family.

With the Anand Karaj set to take place at the CM’s residence, Raghav Chadha shared an image of Bhagwant Mann from the wedding ceremony. “Mann sahab nu lakh lakh vadhaiyan!” he wrote.

AAP chief spokesperson Malwinder Singh Kang said Harpal and Mann’s sister Manpreet knew Gurpreet Kaur. “The families are distantly related. The bride’s family had been in touch with the mother for a few years. The match has been made by the CM’s mother, who has been pressuring him to get remarried.”
