A fresh twist has shaken the Raja Raghuwanshi murder case. Sonam Raghuwanshi, the main accused and Raja’s wife, is now facing tough questions from the police and her own family. Her brother, Govind Raghuwanshi, has spoken out, challenging claims that she was ever forced into the marriage.

Brother Of Sonam Raghuwanshi Denies Forced Marriage

Govind said Sonam made her own decisions and was never pressured by anyone. According to the web portal Patrika, he said to reporters in Ujjain, “She was very stubborn. Whatever she decided, no one could go against her, parents or anyone else. There was no pressure on her for marriage. She was free to make her own decisions.”

Sonam’s 14-Day Hideout After Killing Raja Raghuwanshi

After Raja was killed, Sonam went into hiding in Indore for 14 days. She used a fake name and stayed in a rented flat in Hirabagh Colony. That flat was arranged by Vishal Chauhan, who is also named as an accused in the case.

While police were conducting a nationwide search, Sonam stayed inside, tracking news about the murder through her phone and TV. The landlord later claimed he had informed police about the new tenant, but no action was taken. Sonam only left the flat when she began to suspect police were close to finding her. She was eventually caught in Ghazipur.

Govind Says There Was No Affair Pressure

Shillong police have now summoned Govind for questioning. He’s asked for a few days but says he’s ready to help. He confirmed, “I’m ready to cooperate.”

He also addressed rumours of an affair with Raj Kushwaha before the marriage. Govind said, “After hearing about the affair, I checked CCTV and voice recordings. I didn’t find anything suspicious.” He added that Sonam always had the freedom to speak her mind.

On Friday, Raja’s nephew Vidhan performed the pind daan ritual in Ujjain at Siddhavat. Sonam’s brother, Govind and Raja’s brother, Vipin, also took part in the prayers. Despite the dark cloud over the family, the rituals were carried out in full to bring peace to Raja’s soul.
