What started as a honeymoon turned into a gruesome murder case. Newlyweds Raja Raghuwanshi and Sonam had planned a romantic trip to the Northeast, but by June 2, Raja was found dead in a remote Meghalaya gorge. His body showed signs of a brutal knife attack.
Now, as police investigate, the focus is on a bitter blame game. Sonam and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha are both accusing each other of masterminding the murder. The case has left the Meghalaya SIT digging deeper into a twisted web of betrayal and lies.
Sonam Raghuwanshi And Raj Kushwaha Blame Each Other
Raj Kushwaha told police he wasn’t behind the killing. He claimed he backed out at the last minute and even tried to stop the others. But according to him, Sonam pushed the plan forward and even offered Rs 15 lakh to carry it out.
On the other hand, Sonam says Raj was the one pulling the strings. She claims he arranged the money, booked the tickets, and roped others into the plot. With both giving opposite stories, investigators are now trying to piece together the truth.
Murder Plot Had A Backup Plan
Reports suggest the hired killers got cold feet. That’s when Sonam may have decided to act alone. Police believe she might have considered pushing Raja off a cliff if the original plan failed. This points to just how far she was allegedly willing to go.
Investigators are now looking into the possibility of another mystery person involved, someone Sonam might have planned to run away with. If true, Raja may have been just a pawn in a much bigger plot.
