The brutal murder of Raja Raghuwanshi has shaken not just his family but also the community in Indore. His brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, has now stepped forward with raw and emotional statements that expose the depth of their grief and the unanswered questions surrounding the case.
According to Meghalaya Police, Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuwanshi, and four others have been named in his murder. The incident has triggered public outrage, leading to a candle march in Indore led by Raja’s family demanding swift justice.
Brother Of Raja Raghuwanshi BREAKS Down, Says ‘His Body Was Rotten’
Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja’s elder brother, broke down while recalling the horrifying state in which Raja’s body was found. In a video posted by Dainik Bhaskar, Vipin said, “I wasn’t even able to see Raja’s face properly… his body was swollen, and when we opened his mouth, it was completely rotten, it was like he wasn’t there anymore.”
He added, “Raja was the youngest of three siblings. He had recently turned 30 and was seen as the calm, grounded one in the family. Vipin explained that the marriage had been arranged through their community network, where matches are typically made within the Raghuvanshi circle. “We did everything from the heart. We didn’t leave any ritual or tradition incomplete.”
He also expressed regret over the lack of proper background checks on Sonam’s side. Vipin said, “Something went wrong, but we tried to do our part. If my kids ever get married, I’ll still let them choose their partner. But this case shows how important it is to do a full background check, not just of the person, but also their family."
Raja's Family Seeks Tough Action Against Accused Wife And Others
Vipin has also demanded a narco test on all the accused, pointing out how Sonam and her alleged accomplice Raj have been trying to mislead police. Earlier, he told ANI, “The way Sonam and Raj are misleading police is shocking. A narco test will reveal how much she’s lying.”
He went on to question why Sonam’s parents have remained silent. “Why haven’t they made any statements? If Raj is claiming Sonam tied Rakhi to him and Govind for three years, why doesn’t her mother know?” Vipin suspects that more people could be involved and insisted that no one should be spared.
Meanwhile, Raja’s other brother (Sachin Raghuvanshi) led the peaceful candle march through Indore. He sais, “I’ll go anywhere in the world to get justice for Raja. This march is for peace. So that Raja’s soul can rest.”
Meghalaya BJP President Rikman G Momin also addressed the issue and condemned those spreading hate by misusing the incident. He urged people not to tarnish Meghalaya’s image over the crime.
