The murder of Raja Raghuwanshi has taken a dramatic turn. Raj Kushwaha, one of the main accused, is now at the centre of a debate over his alleged role. But his family insists he’s innocent. His mother and sister claim Raj was home when the murder happened and say he’s been falsely dragged into the case.
This comes just a day after multiple arrests, including Raj and Raja’s wife Sonam. Raj’s family broke their silence and pleaded for a fair investigation, stating that Raj, only 20 years old, could not commit such a crime.
“My Son Is innocent,” Says Raj Kushwaha's Mother
Speaking to ANI, Raj’s sister said emotionally, “My brother is innocent, he can never do this. Both Vicky and Raj are like my brothers. They can never do this. My brother Raj has not gone anywhere. You can ask his office people. My only demand is that my brother should be released.... My brother is innocent.”
His mother backed the claim and said, “My son cannot do such a thing. He is only 20 years old... He is my everything... My son used to work in Sonam’s brother’s factory... He is being falsely accused. I request the government to prove him innocent.”
Kushwaha is accused of being involved in Raja’s murder during his honeymoon with Sonam. Reports suggest Raj and Sonam were allegedly having an affair.
Raj Kushwaha Attended The Funeral Of Raja Raghwanshi Before His Arrest
Raja’s brother Vipul told reporters that Sonam and Raj were in regular contact. He claimed, “Raj Kushwaha was Sonam's employee. They would constantly talk on the phone.”
East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem didn’t deny the possibility of an affair. He said, “Yes, it appears so. If you look at it logically, all these days she hadn’t come out, but last night, when Raj Kushwaha and others were caught, suddenly she surfaced. That speaks for itself.”
Surprisingly, eyewitness Lakshman Singh Rathore told PTI that Raj was present at Raja Raghwanshi’s funeral. According to him, Sonam’s family had arranged several vehicles for mourners, and Raj was seen driving one of them. Rathore said, “I had no conversation with him. But I recognised him later when his photo appeared in the media.”
