In a shocking turn of events, the Meghalaya Police have disclosed that Sonam Raghuvanshi, the new wife of Raja Raghuvanshi, allegedly paid 20 lakh rupees to hire hitmen to kill her husband during their honeymoon. Investigators believe this was a premeditated crime involving monetary incentives, betrayal, and a chilling execution.
Spin Chilling Twist, Honeymoon Turns Nightmare
Raja Raghuvanshi (29) and Sonam (25), Indore, Madhya Pradesh, married on May 11. On May 21, they left for their honeymoon to Meghalaya. They were last seen on May 23 when they left a hotel in Nongriat, Cherrapunji. Raja's body was found in a deep valley near Wei Sawdong Falls on June 2. He had severe head trauma, and there was a bloody machete near him.
Police Find Out Shocking Murder Plot
Police say Sonam and Raj Kushwaha, who they say is her boyfriend, planned to kill Raja. Three paid killers are said to have helped plan the murder. Sonam is said to have raised the murder fee from ₹4 lakh to ₹20 lakh when the attackers first paused. Besides that, she gave him ₹15,000 in cash.

Raja was taken to a remote area under the guise of going to a temple or a picture shoot. The hired killers went there and did what Sonam told them to do: "kill him."
