Reacting to reports that Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra have submitted their resignations from the Trust, Dhanda questioned whether changing individuals in the Trust would address the issues surrounding the alleged Ram Mandir donation scam. He also asked when an FIR would be registered against Champat Rai.
Anurag Dhanda Demands FIR Against Champat Rai
The remarks came after the Trust issued a press statement confirming that it had received the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. According to the statement, the resignations will be considered at the Trust’s next meeting.
The Trust also sought to reassure devotees, stating that silver bricks, jewellery, and other offerings personally handed over by devotees are safe and properly accounted for. It further said that, based on an interim report submitted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, an FIR had been registered regarding the alleged theft of donations collected from the temple donation boxes, and legal proceedings are underway.
The Trust said it remains committed to ensuring a fair investigation and maintaining the confidence of devotees. It also appealed to the public not to be misled by rumours or unverified information while affirming that those found guilty would face legal action in accordance with the law.
The developments have intensified political discussion surrounding the alleged donation irregularities, while the investigation into the case continues.
